Today I noticed a small cluster of paper airplanes stuck to my classroom ceiling. I walked out to the hall and realized there’s an entire colorful figuration of paper airplanes on the ceiling of the lunchroom. I work in a high school, and I can’t recall ever seeing students make paper airplanes. Then I realized: as of this year, cell phones are required to be collected by teachers in every class. Students do not have access to their phones during the school day. Perhaps they are turning to paper airplanes to alleviate their boredom. Well, I’ll take the trade-off!

Perhaps I should consider printing out some origami instructions so I can hang some decorative paper cranes around my bookshelves.
